LegalWhat we collect, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. Written in plain English, in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Last updated 13 August 2026
Short version: we collect your email and your car so we can tell you when your kit is ready and help you fit it. We do not sell your information to anyone. You can ask us to delete it at any time.
AccuGuard (ABN 82 698 774 293) sells pre-cut paint protection film kits in Australia. In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean AccuGuard, and "you" means anyone who visits accuguard.com.au, joins the waitlist, contacts support or buys a kit.
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We apply those principles whether or not the Act binds a business of our size, because it is the standard we want to be held to.
Only what we need to do the job:
We do not collect sensitive information as the Privacy Act defines it (health, race, religion, political views and so on). Please do not send it to us.
We do not store your card details. Payments at launch will be processed by a third-party payment provider, and your card information goes to them, not to us.
If you do not give us the information we ask for, we may not be able to send you a kit or help you with an install.
Usually straight from you: the waitlist form, the support form, an order, an email, a phone call or a message on social media. Some technical information is collected automatically when you use the site.
If someone gives us your details on your behalf, for example buying a kit as a gift, we treat that information the same way and will tell you we hold it if you ask.
We do not sell or rent your personal information. We share it only with providers who help us run the business, and only with what they need:
| Who | What for |
|---|---|
| Formspree | Receiving waitlist and support form submissions |
| Vercel | Website hosting and site analytics |
| Meta (Facebook and Instagram) | Advertising measurement, if you have not opted out of tracking |
| Email provider | Sending waitlist and order emails |
| Payment provider | Processing payments at launch |
| Couriers and Australia Post | Delivering your kit |
| Our accountants and advisers | Tax, bookkeeping and legal advice |
We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or where it is needed to protect someone's safety or to enforce our terms of sale.
Some of those providers store data outside Australia, mainly in the United States and the European Union. Before we use a provider we check that they are bound to protect your information to a standard comparable to the Australian Privacy Principles.
The site runs over HTTPS. Access to our inbox and order records is limited to the people who need it and protected by strong passwords and two-factor authentication. We delete information when we no longer need it, unless the law requires us to keep it, which for tax and sales records is generally 5 to 7 years.
No system is perfect. If a data breach happens that is likely to cause you serious harm, we will notify you and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner as required by the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme.
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email hello@accuguard.com.au with enough detail for us to find your record, and we will respond within 30 days.
There is no charge for asking. If we refuse a request, we will tell you why in writing.
Joining the waitlist means we will email you about the launch and about kits for your car. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing takes effect straight away. You will still get emails about an order you have placed, because those are service messages rather than marketing.
We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies for analytics and advertising measurement. What they are, what they do and how to turn them off is set out in our cookie policy.
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, email hello@accuguard.com.au with "Privacy complaint" in the subject line. We will acknowledge it within 5 business days and give you an answer within 30 days.
If you are not happy with our response, you can take it to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
We will update this page when what we do changes, and the date at the top will change with it. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will email you about it.
Email tech@accuguard.com.au for anything about your kit or an install, or hello@accuguard.com.au for orders, privacy requests and everything else. The form on our support page reaches the same inbox, and we will arrange a call if a written answer is not enough.
